Dragon’s Rest

A high plateau, originally a caldera, surrounded by higher volcanoes at the intersection between the Sky Saw and the Dragon’s Teeth. The surrounding mountains are the highest points of Tarn at almost 24000 meters above sea level. Dragon’s Rest itself sits at 15000 meters.

The Tulka cities of Vaxil and Torku lie on opposite sides of Dragon’s Rest, and there are passages beneath the mountains allowing travelers to pass from north to south and west to east. Despite the longer distance, this road is greatly preferred to crossing the Dragon’s Teeth by its high passes. Another ancient road approaches Dragon’s Rest from the south, the Steward’s Path, but it was damaged in the destruction of Hopa and is no longer passable.

Dragon’s Rest is so enormous that it affects the weather of much of Adana by guaranteeing the moist winds of the Chada cyclone are driven north into Vidu, away from the Great Adana Plain. Together with the Unforgiving Spur, Dragon’s Rest also pushes moist air towards Prala, displacing its high pressure north where it often settles above the Salt Still. Very little moisture also passes across the Great Divide, so the Great Adana Plain is arid.
